From the harbor, the funicular takes you directly to the Piazzetta (Piazza Umberto I), the heart of the island.
Alternatives:
Local buses (crowded in summer)
Open-top taxis
Scooter rental (better outside peak season)
Funicolare (crowded in summer)
Private cars are not recommended.
